  • Texas does not require or issue a state license for flooring inspectors.
  • Our inspections are based on nationally recognized standards, industry certifications, and evidence‑driven methodology.
  • This ensures that every report is neutral, defensible, and accepted by manufacturers, builders, attorneys, and insurance professionals.”
  • Texas regulates trades that involve public safety, such as electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Flooring inspection is considered a professional consulting service, not a safety‑critical trade.
  • As a result, the state leaves qualification standards to industry organizations, manufacturers, and the legal system such as the CFIU.

FAQ

What does a Tile / flooring inspector do?

  • A tile / flooring inspector looks at your floors, or tiled areas documents what’s happening, including compliance with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards (ASTM, NWFA, RFCI, etc.) and explains why issues are occurring.
  • The goal is to give you clear, unbiased answers you can use for repairs, warranties, or next steps.

When should I call an inspector?

  • Most people reach out when they notice things like gaps, cupping, loose planks, uneven tile, carpet wrinkles, or when there’s a disagreement between installer, builder, or manufacturer.
  • Or other services specifically for property landlords include a full review of the tile / flooring in the rental unit to assist with refunding of deposits etc.

What happens during the inspection?

  • The inspector walks the area with you, takes photos and measurements, checks installation details, and reviews conditions that may be affecting the floor.
  • Everything is documented clearly.

Do you perform destructive testing?

  • Most inspections are non‑destructive.
  • If destructive testing (e.g., removing planks, cutting carpet, exposing substrate) is needed to reach a defensible conclusion, it is only performed with written authorization from the client.

What will I get afterward?

  • You receive a written report with photos, measurements, and a straightforward explanation of what’s causing the issue.

Are you independent and unbiased?
